Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026What Forje Does
Forje is an SSH terminal client. It connects directly from your device to servers you own or have access to. All connections are encrypted using the SSH protocol.
Data We Collect
None.
Forje does not collect, transmit, or store any data on external servers. There are no Forje servers. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no network calls to any Forje-operated infrastructure.
Data Stored on Your Device
Forje stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Server connection details (hostname, port, username)
- SSH passwords and API tokens (encrypted using your device's secure storage — Android Keystore or iOS Keychain)
- SSH key pairs (stored in your device's secure storage)
- App preferences (theme, layout, onboarding state)
This data never leaves your device. If you uninstall the app, all stored data is deleted.
Network Connections
Forje makes network connections only to:
- Servers you explicitly configure via SSH
- localhost (for SSH-tunneled services like code-server)
When you use Cloudflare Tunnels, traffic routes through Cloudflare's network. This is a standard cloudflared tunnel initiated by you. Forje does not operate or control Cloudflare's infrastructure.
Third-Party Services
Forje helps you install and use third-party tools on your own server (code-server, Coolify, Claude Code, etc.). Each tool has its own privacy policy and terms. Forje does not control these tools and is not responsible for data they may collect on your server.
Camera and Microphone
Camera access is used only to capture images you choose to send to your server. Microphone access is used only for voice-to-text input in the terminal. Neither camera nor microphone data is stored or transmitted to Forje.
Children
Forje is not directed at children under 13. It is a developer tool for managing servers.
Changes
We may update this policy. Continued use of Forje after changes constitutes acceptance.
